Begyle’s Community Supported Brewery Memberships

 

Begyle-Growler-Subscription-FB-Ad_webBegyle Brewing offers growler subscriptions through our Community Supported Brewery (CSB) Membership.  This program allows us to build a community around our beer and provide a discount to our members, and is loosely based on the community supported agriculture model (CSA). Farm CSAs sell produce shares, and in exchange the customer receives a box or bag of veggies and fruits each week at prices lower than market rate. Similarly, we will offer beer shares to our customers.

Our memberships will run in 6 month (half) and 12 month (full) increments, and members can choose to receive one or two 64oz growlers, or one sixtel of beer each month. These options are outlined in the infographic below. Along with monthly growler fills, a CSB membership will include discounts on merchandise and beer purchases (additional growlers and/or packaged goods). We will also have CSB member-only events throughout the year.

Sign-up periods occur twice a year in December and June and memberships will be limited to 250 subscribers. The beer must be picked up in person at our store located inside the brewery at 1800 W. Cuyler. CSB members must be at least 21 years of age.

Subscription Details

 

How do I get my beer each month? All subscriptions must be picked up at Begyle Brewing. You can pick up your share during business hours any time between the first and last day of each month. 

What do I need to pick up my share? You must show your membership card and ID to pick up your share.  The subscription holder is the only person allowed to pick up, unless otherwise arranged prior to pick up.

What is the standard cost of growlers? What styles are available for CSB Members?Our standard pricing for a 64oz growler fill will be between $12-$15 ($4 for glass), with some low ABV beers below $12,  and special limited release beers above $15. CSB memberships will include all beers up to $15. For example, Don’t Bring Me Down, Zeus!, our Double IPA, will be $15 and available to CSB Members. Our limited release beers (more than $15) will not be available as part of the CSB subscription, but can be purchased with your 10% discount.  These releases will be limited to one 64oz. growler per customer. Sixtel shares will include all beers up to $75 per keg.

Do I need to purchase a growler?  Why upgrade to the 2L growler? The listed subscription cost includes one standard 64 oz growler. For an additional $23 you can choose to upgrade to a specialty 2L swingtop growler (tax included). The swingtop has an even better seal and will keep your beer fresh longer. You should bring back your growler each month clean and in good condition to be refilled.

Can I use my own growler, different from the one I receive with my subscription? If so, will I get a discount? To fill on our counter pressure growler filler, we require Begyle growlers and will check that they are in good condition. This is important because the filler puts additional pressure on the glass, and we need to ensure the integrity of each growler before it is filled.  We are happy to fill other growlers (that have a surgeon general’s warning, and are clean and in good condition) with our taps/draft system.  All beer purchases for members are subject to the 10% discount.

Are there other membership benefits? Members receive  a 10% discount on merchandise and additional beer purchases. We will also host events for members only.  Our goal is to make this a partnership with our members. We encourage your feedback, and will look forward to seeing you each month!

Are current members guaranteed spots for the next round of subscriptions? Individuals who are members of the CSB at the time subscriptions go on sale will have a chance to renew before any new members join the CSB.

When are memberships available? Can I start a membership at any time? Community Supported Brewery Memberships are available for purchase 2 times per year. They will go on sale the first week in December and again the first week in June until they are sold out.  We offer 6 month and 12 month subscriptions that start in January and July.

How should I pick up if my share includes more than one growler a month? If you get more than one growler per month, you can pick up one at a time, and return your growler to be filled. You can also pick up any way that works for you if you purchase/bring additional growlers. (i.e if you choose the 2 growler per month level, you can get 2 at once if you purchase or provide the additional growlers to fill.)

What if I miss a month? Shares must be picked up during each month of your subscription.  We cannot accommodate if, for example, members skip a month, and then hope to pick up extra the following month.

Can I buy a subscription as a gift? Yes! If purchasing a subscription as a gift you are required, at time of purchase, to  designate the person for whom you are purchasing it. Both parties must be at least 21 years of age.

Is anything different if I get a sixtel share? Sixtel shares will include all beers up to $75 per keg. We will do a bit more communicating with our members who get a sixtel share. At the beginning of each month you will get a beer packaging schedule and will determine a pick up day based on your choice of beer style.  Your keg must be returned to pick up your next month’s share. All ⅙ barrel subscriptions include a $30 keg deposit at time of purchase. This deposit will transfer month to month until your membership ends. Your deposit will be returned when the keg is returned in good condition at the end of your membership.

What else?

All sales final, no refunds or exchanges will be given.

CSB Subscriptions are for consumers only. Wholesale customers cannot purchase memberships.
